R. Loretta Hakes February 2, 1937-May 18, 2012 Mrs. R. Loretta Hakes, 75, of La Porte, Indiana, died Friday May 18, 2012 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Michigan City, IN. She was born February 2, 1937 in Judsonia, Arkansas, the daughter of John Hendrickson and Hazel Marie (Manley) Hendrickson. Loretta had worked for Howmet Corp. On July 26, 1956, in LaPorte, IN, she married Phillip L. Hakes who preceded her in death April 15, 2002. She is survived by her daughter - Robyn Lee of Hamlet, IN; 2 Grandchildren - Keith James II of La Porte, IN, Angie James of La Porte, IN; five great grandchildren; and 2 sisters - Vanita Ginter of MI, and Glenette Action of CO. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. A private family service will take place at a later date.
