Mrs. Phyllis Schroeder

Phyllis Eleanor Schroeder December 29, 1926-November 23, 2015 Phyllis Eleanor Schroeder, 88, of Edinburg, Texas, formerly of LaPorte, IN passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 in her home. She is survived by children, Sally Neary, Mark Schroeder and Peggy (Chet) Ogle; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Schroeder; daughter, Janet Schroeder-Hammons; grandchildren, Michael Reese and James Deaton. Phyllis was born on December 29, 1926 to Lloyd and Dora Stewart. On December 15, 1945, she married the love of her life, Joseph E. Schroeder. She was an active Brownie and Girl Scout Leader and was the secretary for the Girl Scout Chalet. She was a longtime member of the First Methodist Church in LaPorte and in Edinburg, TX. Phyllis retired from Danners Inc. with over 10 years of service. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Phyllis was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 10:00 AM (CST) at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services 602 Maple Avenue LaPorte, IN with Danny Evans officiating. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 3:00-7:00 PM (CST) at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Kingsbury Cemetery.
