Phyllis L. Lucas July 23, 1957-February 3, 2015 Phyllis L. Lucas, 57, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday February 3, 2015 at her home in La Porte, IN. She was born July 23, 1957 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of George Shannon and Helen (Shoffner) Shannon-Hatchel. She attended Calvary Baptist Church. Phyllis enjoyed gardening, and cooking. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, children, family and friends. On May 25, 2002, in LaPorte, IN, she married Edward Lucas who survives. She is also survived by her mother, Helen (William) Hatchel of LaPorte, IN.; three daughters, Cherish Dunfee of Kalamazoo, MI, Melissa Dunfee of La Porte, IN, Heather (Tyler) DeNormandie of Porter, IN; and her daughter's father, Mark Dunfee of Fish Lake, IN.; her husband, Edward Lucas of LaPorte, IN.; two grandchildren, Delaney Dunfee, Wyatt DeNormandie; a brother, Anthony Shannon of La Porte, IN; two nephews, Joe Shannon, Gabriel Shannon. Phyllis was preceded in death by her father. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Saturday, February 7, 2015, from 8:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday February 7, 2015 at 10:00 am with Rev. Curtis Southwood and Rev. Donna Reidel officiating.
