Mrs. Phyllis Ainsworth

Mrs. Phyllis D. Ainsworth, 90, of LaPorte, IN, died Sunday July 31, 2011 at Golden Living Center Fountainview in LaPorte, IN. She was born December 7, 1920 in LaPorte, Indiana, the daughter of Robert Unger and Martha (Shaffer) Unger. Phyllis worked as a trimmer for American Rubber Products. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Phyllis was involved with 4-H for over thirty years. She loved horses. Phyllis especially loved all of her grandchildren and family. On December 10, 1938, in LaPorte, IN, she married Edward C. Ainsworth who preceded in death January 2, 1998. She is survived by her son - Gerald (Kay) Ainsworth of La Porte, IN; 4 grandchildren - Yvonne Curless, Karrie Clark, Deanna Wyatt, Corey Ainsworth; seven great- grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 4-step-grandchildren; 16-step-great grandchildren; 3-step great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters - Janice Nickerson of Rolling Prairie, IN, Mary Williams of New Carlisle, IN, and several nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Judy Kay Shaw, four brothers, two sisters, and one step- grandson. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Thursday, August 4, 2011 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Friday, August 5, 2011 from 9:30 am, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday August 5, 2011 at 10:30 am with Rev. Ronald Brauer, officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Mills Cemetery, Union Mills, IN.
