Mrs. Pamela Harshman

Pamela S. Harshman March 30, 1949-March 5, 2014 Pamela S. Harshman , 64, of New Carlisle, Indiana, died Wednesday March 5, 2014 at her home after a 2 year battle with cancer. She was born March 30, 1949 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Lloyd Miser and Kathryn (Weliver) Miser-Harness. Pamela attended the Christ Chapel in South Bend, IN. She was a co-founder of Crochet for Cancer, Inc., which provides chemo caps for those struggling with hair loss due to chemotherapy. Pamela retired from LaPorte Community Schools as a bus driver in 2009, and she previously was employed at Horizon Bank. Pamela enjoyed attending church, and reading the bible, crocheting, traveling and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her mother, Kathryn Harness of LaPorte, IN.; son - Todd Harshman of Akron, PA; daughter - Tracy (Carl) Wells of Rincon, GA; 2 sisters - Judy Weisjohn of LaPorte, IN, Lora Miser-Schmidt of Rolling Prairie, IN; step-sister Lynn (Dan) Hutts of Rolling Prairie, IN; brother - Lloyd Pete Miser, Jr. of La Porte, IN; step-brother - Kenneth (Teresa) Paxson of La Porte, IN; 3 grandchildren - Brittany Harshman of Elizabethtown, PA, Larissa Harshman and Brandi Harshman, both of Rolling Prairie, IN. Pamela was preceded in death by her father and son, Timothy Harshman. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Monday, March 10, 2014 from 2:00 pm, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday March 10, 2014 at 5:00 pm. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date at the Rolling Prairie Cemetery, Rolling Prairie, Indiana. The family would like to give a thank-you to the doctors and nurses at the Michiana Hematology, Oncology, and especially to Dr. Michael Rodriguez and Shelia Fleming.
