Mrs. Nora Hix

Nora E. Hix, 87, of Mill Creek, IN, passed away on Thursday June 30, 2011 at Ironwood Rehab Center in South Bend, IN. She was born March 19, 1924 in Sullivan Co., Indiana, the daughter of Frank R. Knotts and Else (McMahan) Knotts. Nora had worked at Berkel, Inc., retiring after twenty-four years. On October 31, 1942, in La Porte, IN, she married Junior Everett Hix who preceded in death March 14, 1954. She is survived by her 2 sons - Roy (Karin) Hix of Mill Creek, IN, Donald (Regina) Hix of LaPorte, IN, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nora was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Margaret Hartke, two sisters, Eleanor Knotts, Cora Frances Zellers, and one brother, Ed Knotts. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. There will be no visitation. Services will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, on Tuesday July 5, 2011 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jo Ellyn Chadwick officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, IN.
