Mrs. Mary Jeffers

Mary Ann Jeffers April 11, 1919-April 8, 2013 Mary Ann Jeffers , 93, of La Porte, Indiana, died Monday April 8, 2013 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born April 11, 1919 in Walkerton, Indiana, the daughter of Rolland Smith and Nora (Lindsley) Smith. Mary had worked thirty-one years at Whirpool Mfg, retiring in 1983. Mary enjoyed bingo and playing euchre. She especially loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.. She is survived by her five daughters - Gertrude (Leon) Ashcraft of La Porte, IN, Evelyn "Bobbi" (Fred) Risner of Carey, OH, Judy Waldo of La Porte, IN, Dorothy "Jo" Parsons of La Porte, IN, Bette (Greg) Pointon of La Porte, IN; seventeen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren, and one sister - Carol (Jim) Kerchart of Fort Mc Coy, FL. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, three deceased husbands, Eldon Jackson, Fred Bodmer, and Clovis "Jeff" Jeffers, son, Elden "Buck" Jackson, and several brothers. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 10:00 am ,until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday April 11, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor Billy Nickrand officiating.
