Mary Jane Bryant April 12, 1925 - July 1, 2012 Mrs. Mary Jane Bryant, 87, of La Porte, Indiana, died Monday July 2, 2012 at La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. She was born April 12, 1925 in Dowell, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Manzuk and Mary Manzuk. Mary was a loving homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church of LaPorte. On May 4, 1946, in Culver, IN, she married Herberdean Bryant who preceded her in death December 24, 1998. She is survived by her 2 daughters - Patricia Gierke of La Porte, IN, Linda (Cliff) Lewis of Indianapolis, IN; granddaughter - Sarah Gierke of Louisville, KY; 2 grandsons - Brian Lewis of Indianapolis, IN, Mark Lewis of Indianapolis, IN; and a sister - Anna Mann of South Bend, IN. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, and son in-law, Don Gierke. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., at 1:30 pm on Friday July 6, 2012 with Rev. Everett Shattuck officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of LaPorte 610 Maple Avenue LaPorte, IN 46350.
