Mrs. Lois Swanson

Mrs. Lois L Swanson, 85, of Union Mills, Indiana, died Sunday February 24, 2013 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born May 28, 1927 in Clinton Twp. LaPorte, Indiana, the daughter of Howard Iseminger and Marie (Hagenow) Iseminger. Lois had worked twenty-seven years for McGill Mfg, retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Union Mills Conservation Club, LaPorte Hospital Foundation, and a member of the Swanson Club. Lois enjoyed spending time with her family, and watching her great-grandchildren playing sports. On June 16, 1946, in Westville, IN, she married Kenneth Swanson who preceded her in death July 28, 2001. She is survived by her son - Keith (Geraldine) Swanson of Hanna, IN; daughter - Linda (Daniel) Satkoski of Union Mills, IN; 2 grandchildren - Corey (Brent) King of Hanna, IN, and Jennifer (Padro) Martinez of South Bend, IN; five great grandchildren, and one brother - Wayne Iseminger of Westville, IN. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, 2 sisters, Arlene Iseminger, Alice Shurte, and one brother, Earl Iseminger. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the St. John's Lutheran Church from 9:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church on Thursday February 28, 2013 at 10:00 am with Rev. Ronald A. Brauer officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Mills Cemetery, Union Mills, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice of LaPorte P.O.
