Kensey Spriggs Miller April 3, 1924 - August 16, 2012 Mrs. Kensey (Fox) Spriggs Miller, 88, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, died Thursday August 16, 2012 at Hamilton Communities, Inc. in New Carlisle, IN. She was born April 3, 1924 in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Joseph Fox and Anna (Wert) Fox. Kensey graduated from Lindblom High School in 1941 with over 750 graduates. She was on the National Honor Society and skipped one semester due to her exceptional grades. Kensey was a 30 year member of VFW Ladies Auxilliary Post #9423 of Rolling Prairie, IN. Kensey worked at Easy Heat for 16 years and also at Kemco Plastics for 6 years, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed watching birds-wildlife, writing poetry, flowers, and also enjoyed cooking and eating ice cream. Kensey's wit, charm and kindness will be sorely missed by all who knew her, especially her children and grandchildren. The world was a better place, because of her. On July 3, 1958, in Rolling Prairie, IN, she married Marion Miller who preceded in death June 29, 1995. She is survived by her 2 daughters - Ellen Spriggs of New Carlisle, IN, Joyce (Bruce) Lowery of Kingsford Heights, IN; step-daughter - Dawn Heiden of La Porte, IN; 4 sons - Daniel (Lori) Miller of La Porte, IN, Thomas (Gail) Spriggs of Philpot, KY, Ronald (Linda) Spriggs of New Carlisle, IN, Lynn Spriggs of New Carlisle, IN; step-son - Jess (Marci) Miller of La Porte, IN; nineteen grandchildren; - thirty-two great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Kensey was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Glen Spriggs and husband, Marion Miller, sister, Virginia Escher, sister, Frances Standenmeir, sister, Jo Ann Yocius, sister, Margo Wadley, brother, Robert Fox, son, James Spriggs, who was a Vietnam combat veteran, passed away in 1971; step-son, Michael Miller, sister, Patricia, brothers, Ed, Joe, Bill, great-grandchild, Daniel Passwater. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Monday, August 20, 2012 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 10:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday August 21, 2012 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the Rolling Prairie Cemetery, Rolling Prairie, Indiana.
