Mrs. Katherine Aldrich

Mrs. Katherine J. Carrick Aldrich, 93, of LaPorte, IN died Monday December 3, 2012 at her son's home in Clyde, Ohio. She was born October 19, 1919 in Angola, Indiana, the daughter of Archie E. Carrick and Henrietta (Uppencamp) Carrick. Katherine was a member of First Christian Church of LaPorte, Center Township Volunteer Fire Dept. Firebelles Auxiliary for 33 years, and LaPorte Camera and Travel Club. She was active with her husband in the Boy Scouts for 9 years. On June 7, 1942, in Angola, IN, she married Mark E. Aldrich who preceded her in death November 28, 2009. She is survived by her son - Thomas (Kathryn) Aldrich, Sr. of Clyde, OH; 4 grandsons - Thomas (Amy) Aldrich, Jr., Aaron (Charlotte Blackwell) Aldrich, Gregg (Rachael) Aldrich, James (Melissa ) Aldrich; 9 great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Madeline, Macintyre, Payton, Dane, Adrienne, Alex, Aaron, Alivia, and one sister - Belva (Robert) Walter of Meadeville, PA. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Melvin Carrick, and sister-in-law, Ruth Carrick. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday December 6, 2012 at 7:00 pm with Rev. Gene Paul, and Rev. Everett Shattuck officiating. Burial of Ashes will be held at the Circle Hill Cemetery at a later date.
