Mrs. Judith Shepherd

Mrs. Judith J Shepherd, 61, of La Porte, Indiana, died Monday, February 27, 2012 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born September 6, 1950 in LaPorte, Indiana, the daughter of Warren Houston and Lucille (Edgell) Houston. Judith worked in sales and was a glass-blower. She enjoyed spending time on her computer, helping her husband run their auction business and also enjoyed traveling. On June 27, 1993, in LaPorte, IN, she married Jerry Ray Shepherd who survives. She is also survived by her daughter - Teresa (Vladimir) Zihlavski of LosAngeles, CA; 2 grandchildren - Natalya Zihlavski and Katerina Zihlavski; three step-daughters - LaDonna Hammonds, Connie Obadencio, and Robin (Roger) Brewer, all of Kingsford Heights, IN.; 2 step-sons - DeWayne Wills of Waynesville, MO, and John Shepherd of Kingsford Heights, IN; many step-grandchildren & step great-grandchildren; 5 brothers - James Houston of Villa Park, IL, Jerold Houston of Bryan, TX, Jeffrey Houston of Knox, IN, Jonathon Houston of La Porte, IN, Jack Houston of Knox, IN, and several nieces and nephews. Judith was preceded in death by her parents. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Friday, March 2, 2012 from 4:00 pm, until time of service. A Life Celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday March 2, 2012 at 6:00 pm with Rev. Freeman Schrock officiating. Cremation will take place.
