Mrs. Judith Gauer

Judith A. Gauer September 23, 1939 - December 22, 2012 Mrs. Judith A. Gauer, 73, of La Porte, Indiana, died Saturday December 22, 2012 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born September 23, 1939 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Ora J. Bennett and Oka J. (Collins) Bennett. Judith retired from the La Porte County Auditors Office. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and collecting recipes. Judith loved animals, especially cats. She was a huge fan of sports and enjoyed bowling. The Blackhawks, Cubs, and Bears were her favorite teams. On April 26, 1965, in Chicago, IL, she married George V. Gauer who survives. She is also survived by her son - John V. (Jessica) Gauer of Meadow Grove, NE; brother - Joe Dean (Joni) Bennett of Dudley, MA; sister-in-law - Deanna Gauer of La Porte, IN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Judith was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, John C. Bennett. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Friday, December 28, 2012 from 12:00 pm until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Friday December 28, 2012 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Billy Nickrand officiating.
