Mrs. Jessie Tolson

Jessie Tolson , 80, of La Porte, Indiana, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at her daughter's home in LaPorte. She was born June 18, 1931 in Parke County, Indiana, the daughter of Jesse Craig and Olive L. (Rhoten) Craig. Jessie lived in LaPorte County for twenty-seven years, then moved to Breathitt Co, Kentucky where she lived for twenty-five years. She moved back to LaPorte Co. in 2005 after the death of her husband Williard. Jessie worked as a finisher for Howmet Corp, retiring in1976. She was a member of First Apostolic Church. Jessie enjoyed quilting, doing puzzles, reading, and doing geneology. She made quilts for all the grandchildren. Jessie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. In April, 1949 in St. Joseph Co., she married Richard W. Binney, who preceded her in death in December of 1983. In 1974 in Stark County, she married Willard Tolson who preceded her in death in 2005. She is survived by her son - Ron Binney of Amana, IA; daughter - Sharon (Ed) Snow of La Porte, IN; 5 grandchildren - Phillip (Nicole) Snow, Shawn Snow, Crystal (John) Parks, Elijah Binney, Elizabeth (Adam) Olson, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, son, William Bell, grandaughter, Gabrelle Binney, five brothers, John, Hershel, Howard, Bob, Willard Craig, three sisters, Mary Lovell, Pat Maloratsky, Katherine Craig, and half-sister, Vina Hann. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Saturday, December 24, 2011 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday December 24, 2011 at 11:00 am with Rev. Richard Hoffman officiating.
