Mrs. Ida Redding

Mrs. Ida K. Redding, 87, of Michigan City, Indiana, died Wednesday April 17, 2013 at Life Care Center in Michigan City, IN. She was born March 3, 1926 in New Carlisle, Indiana, the daughter of Henry Johnson and Elsie Edna (Hatfield) Johnson. Ida worked as a paper deliverer for the South Bend Tribune. She was a member of Faith Mission Church, Westville, IN. Ida enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and playing yahtzee. She married Austin E. Redding who preceded her in death. She is survived by her son - Michael E Redding of Logansport, IN; daughter - Kathy Spangle of Michigan City, IN; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and brother - Charles Johnson of Nevada. Ida was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sons, Ronnie, Bobbie, and Lee Redding, sister, Alice Kreighbaum, and three brothers, Aaron, Lloyd and Harold Johnson. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Monday, April 22, 2013 from 1:00 pm, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday April 22, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
