Mrs. Hope Harris

Hope M. Harris December 3, 1941 - July 31, 2012 Mrs. Hope M. Harris, 70, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, died Tuesday July 31, 2012 at Millers Merry Manor-New Carlisle. She is at rest after an illness of more than six months. Hope was born the youngest of eight children, on December 3, 1941 to Glenn and Vera (Stoner) Butler in their house on Byron Road in Rolling Prairie, the home she lived in all her life. On May 14, 1958, at her home, she married Joseph Warren Harris, who survives. They have two surviving children, Timothy L. Harris of South Bend and Nora J. (Todd) Scott of Phoenix, Arizona. Two grandchildren, Bradley A. Scott and Tyler H. Scott of Phoenix. Her brother Floyd D. Butler survives. Her parents, brothers, Albert, Raymond and Walter along with sisters, Lillie Good, Delores Ward and Helen Pease, preceded her in death. Hope worked more than twenty years for Citizens Bank and five years for Wal-Mart in La Porte as well as giving time to help VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Rolling Prairie. She was a very dutiful daughter, loving wife of over fifty years, a most loved and cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, all whom she cherished and returned her love. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, August 3, 2012 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 10:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday August 4, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dorothy Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Rolling Prairie Cemetery, Rolling Prairie, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist of Rolling Prairie 3376 E.
