Helen Fern Miller February 7, 1919 - May 16, 2012 Mrs. Helen Fern Miller, 93, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, died Wednesday May 16, 2012 at La Porte Hospital. She was born February 7, 1919 in Culver, Indiana, the daughter of Charles Elsworth and Zella (Lemon) Elsworth. Helen worked for fifteen years for Bortz Farm Store as a secretary, retiring in 1965. On August 19, 1939, in Rochester, IN, she married Kenneth Miller who preceded her in death April 8, 2009. She is survived by her son - Charles "Gene" (Sandra A.) Miller of New Carlisle, IN; 2 grandchildren - Kenneth E. Miller of Edwardsburg, MI, Deborah A. Miller of South Bend, IN; 2 great grandchildren - Kaitie Miller of South Bend, IN, Kallie Miller of South Bend, IN. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, and two brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Monday, May 21, 2012 from 9:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday May 21, 2012 at 11:00 am with Pastor Roger Ash officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michiana Humane Society 722 Ind. 212 Michigan City, IN 46360.
