Mrs. Emily Russell

Emily Jane Russell November 12, 1916 - September 4, 2012 Mrs. Emily Jane Russell, 95, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, died Tuesday September 4, 2012 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She is survived by her daughter - Ruth Ann Russell of Rolling Prairie, IN; 2 sons - Harold Russell of Rolling Prairie, IN, and Robert Russell of Oak Park, MI; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Emily was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert A. Russell, son, James Russell, and one sister, Patience Garrott. She was a 1938 music graduate of DePauw University and in 1960 she received her Master's Degree in Education from Indiana University. She has been a lifelong member of the Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church where she served as choir master for several decades. She taught music at the Rolling Prairie Elementary School for 23 years. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home 602 Maple Avenue La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, September 7, 2012 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm & at the Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 10:00 am, until time of service. A service will be held at Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church, Saturday September 8, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dorothy Jones officiating.
