Mrs. Dorothy Hager

Mrs. Dorothy E. Hager, 94, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Wednesday May 18, 2011 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born December 7, 1916 in LaPorte Co., Indiana, the daughter of Oscar Buchanan and Gladys (Pearce) Buchanan. Dorothy had worked as a machinist at Sprague Devices for twenty-five years. She was a former member of the Beacon Baptist Church of Jupiter, Florida and was a fifty year member of Woodman of the World. On September 10, 1936, in Knox, IN, she married Roland Hager who preceded in death March 19, 1970. She is survived by her two sons - Michael E. Hager of La Porte, IN, and Andrew Todd, Jr. of La Porte, IN; sister-in-law - Harriet Buchanan of Niles, MI. and seven nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Betty Crk, two brothers, Earl Buchanan, and Oscar Buchanan. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. There will be no visitation. A Graveside Service will be held at Door Village Cemetery, on Monday May 23, 2011 at 1:00 pm with Pastor JoEllyn Chadwick officiating. Interment will follow at the Door Village Cemetery, LaPorte, IN.
