Doris retired from LaPorte Hospital , but she was know to all as an accomplished seamstress , avid gardener, baker, cook, listener, and fixer of all problems. She always had time to listen, lend a hand , fix a meal, mend a tear, write a letter, wipe your tears, or say a prayer. She never was too busy to help her husband, children, grandchildren, or great grandchildren. Her love for the Lord and her family was evident in all that she did. Doris was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church her whole life. She worshipped and celebrated her faith on a daily basis. She married Gene at Mill Creek Baptist Church and as they began a family she made sure each child came to know the Lord. Her faith, love, and belief calmed the storms and found celebrations even in times of strife. Her home was open to all. She was a blessing to all she met. She was a role model to all, always putting other's needs first before her own. She walked with the Lord daily and now holds his hand in heaven. She will be missed so very much by her family and will always be remembered as the most wonderful, loving, caring, and giving wife , mother, and grandmother any person could be blessed with. She was an angel on earth and now has her heavenly wings. Heaven gained a special angel on January 6, 2012.
