Mrs. Dimple Renfro

Mrs. Dimple "Vi" Renfo, 84, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, died Tuesday November 29, 2011 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born August 8, 1927 in Onarga, Illinois, the daughter of Jesse A. Hocutt and Nannie (Knickerbocker) Hocutt. When she was a young girl (around 1936) her family moved to La Porte, where on December 12, 1946, in La Porte, IN, she married Donald E. Renfro who preceded in death August 31, 1971 Vi dearly loved all of her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. She always had time to play with them. She was an avid reader, and loved doing word search puzzles. Her one regret, was quitting school at 15, so at the age of 61 she went back and got her GED of which she was very proud of. She is survived by her 3 sons - Donald (Linda) Renfro Jr. of Rolling Prairie, IN, Thomas (Deb) Renfro of Mill Creek, IN, Ronney Renfro of Alexandria, IN; 2 daughters - Linda (Gary) Brown of Rolling Prairie, IN, Karen (Brian) Bailey of North Liberty, IN; grandchild - 11 grandchildren; great grandchild - 15 great grandchildren; brother - Albert Hocutt of La Porte, IN; Vi was preceded in death by her grandchild, Jennifer Harmon, 3 brothers, Don Hocutt, Robert Hocutt, Harold Hocutt, and her 5 sisters, Kate Pliski, Mary Skillestad, Virginia Bender, Alice Reyes and Helen Hocutt. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Thursday, December 1, 2011 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Friday, December 2, 2011 9:30 am until time of the service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday December 2, 2011 at 10:30 am with Pastor Jo Ellyn Chadwick officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
