Desseree Cobb March 12, 1933 - April 3, 2012 Desseree Cobb, 79, of Kingsford Heights, Indiana, died Tuesday April 3, 2012 at in Kingsford Heights, IN. She was born March 12, 1933 in Mississippi, the daughter of James Edmonds and Carrie (Hill) Edmonds Avendant. Desseree had worked sixteen years at American Home Foods and then worked twelve years and retired from American Rubber. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Kingsford Heights, and was a mother of the church. Desseree was also involved in the church choir and the treasurer of the Missionary Board. On September 20, 1986, in Kingsford Heights, IN, she married Johnnie Cobb who preceded her in death October 27, 1998. She is survived by her brother - Ernest (Carolyn) Avendant of Youngstown, OH; host of nieces and nephews; host of cousins; and lots of friends. Desseree was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Louise King, three brothers, James Edmonds,Willie Edmonds, and John W. Edmonds. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind. The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church of Kingsford Heights on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 10:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at the First Baptist Church of Kingsford Heights, on Wednesday April 11, 2012 at 11:00 am with Pastor Patrick Reed. Sr. officiating.
