Mrs. Beverly Berg

Mrs. Beverly Ann Berg, 83, of La Porte, Indiana, died Thursday December 1, 2011 at Golden Living Center Fountainview in La Porte, surrounded by loving family. She was born March 22, 1928 in Fargo, North Dakota, the daughter of Harry A. Legler and Ellen (Geraghty) Legler. In 1952, the couple moved to Indiana where Beverly worked as a Dietician for 15 years for La Porte Hospital and retired in 1992. She was a loving person and a jokester. She enjoyed gardening and camping. Most of all she loved her family and was also loved in returned. On July 25, 1945, in Moorehead, MN, she married Delward Berg who preceded her in death on May 2, 2003. She is survived by her 2 daughters - Diane (Bud) Walls of Valparaiso, IN, Jodell (Gordon) Johanson of La Porte, IN; son - Douglas (Fredia) Berg of La Porte, IN; daughter-in-law - Sara (late Roger Berg) Bogolin of TX; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sister - Geraldine Flynn of Salinas, CA; brother - Douglas Legler of Fargo, ND. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Roger Berg, 2 sisters, Muriel Billman and Virginia Swanson. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. where the family will receive friends Monday, December 5, 2011, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday December 5, 2011 at 4:00 pm with Rev. Freeman Schrock officiating. Cremation will follow with the burial of ashes in Patton Cemetery at a later date.
