BETTY JEAN PEARSON'S FUNERAL HAS BEEN POSPONED UNTIL TUESDAY 7TH AT 1:00 PM Betty Jean Pearson March 29, 1932 - January 1, 2014 Mrs. Betty Jean Pearson , 81, of La Porte, Indiana, died Wednesday January 1, 2014 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born March 29, 1932 in Salyersville, Kentucky, the daughter of Brownlow Stepp and Minnie (Patton) Stepp. Betty worked 37 years for Whirlpool Corporation, retiring, July 1, 2000. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved traveling and vacationing in Florida. Betty enjoyed doing yard work, tending her flowers, and attending the grandchildren's activities. She was a great dancer and a very active person. On April 12, 1952, in Otis, Indiana, she married Henry D. Pearson who preceded her in death June 8, 1994. She is survived by her 5 sons - Steve Pearson of Clearwater, FL, Gregory Pearson of New Buffalo, MI, Ronald (Genie) Pearson of Clearwater, FL, Chris (Carol) Pearson of Quebec, Larry (Paula) Pearson of Palm Harbor, FL; brother - Danny Stepp of Valrico, FL; 2 sisters - Marylu Huskey of La Porte, IN, Barbara (John) Blaha of San Pierre, IN. Betty was preceded in death by her 2 brothers, Charles Stepp and Sammie Stepp, 4 sisters, Pearl Oliver, Ellen Risner, Lois Stepp, and JoAnn Brick. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm & Monday, January 6, 2014 from 9:30 am until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday January 6, 2014 at 10:30 am with Rev. Curtis Southwood officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte, Indiana.
