Betty L Kneifel July 13, 1940 - August 7, 2012 Mrs. Betty L Kneifel, "Granny", 72, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday August 7, 2012 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born July 13, 1940 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Alfred Wolfenbarger and Pearl (Cavinder) Wolfenbarger. Betty was a member of the Church of the Brethren. Betty enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafting, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, hunting mushrooms and bike riding. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. On January 3, 1976, she married Wayne Kneifel who preceded her in death March 8, 1996. She is survived by her 4 sons - Bill (Julie) Kuespert of La Porte, IN, John (Sam) Kuespert of Michigan City, IN, Alan Kuespert of La Porte, IN, Larry (Karen) Kneifel of La Porte, IN; 2 daughters - Debra (Pete) Noll of La Porte, IN, Karen (Brian) Blake of Louisville, KY; 3 step-daughters - Kathy (Rex) Richardson of La Porte, IN, Cindy Kneifel of La Porte, IN, Missy (Steve) Gough of La Porte, IN; 5 step-sons - Dennis (Julie) Kneifel of La Porte, IN, Dale (Ruth) Kneifel of Westville, IN, Scott (Darline) Kneifel of New Carlisle, IN, Jobie (Diania) Franks of Mill Creek, IN, Lanny Franks of La Porte, IN; forty-four grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; 2 sisters - Susan (Doug) Sanders of La Porte, IN, Chris Wolfenbarger of La Porte, IN; 4 brothers - Edward Wolfenbarger of La Porte, IN, Theo Wolfenbarger of La Porte, IN, Michael (Vickie) Wolfenbarger of La Porte, IN, and Alfred (Lucy) Wolfenbarger of La Porte, IN. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, Robert, Don, Richard Wolfenbarger, and step-son, Wade Kneifel. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, August 10, 2012 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Saturday, August 11, 2012 from 9:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday August 11, 2012 at 10:00 am with Pastor Tim Williams officiating.
