Mrs. Betty Glasgow

Betty L. Glasgow, 87 , of La Porte, Indiana, died Friday December 30, 2011 at her home. She was born July 15, 1924 in LaPorte, Indiana, the daughter of Arthur L. Nelson and Emily Caroline (Johnson) Nelson. Betty had worked twenty-years for the Westville Correctional Center, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, a past Matron and a 50 year member of the LaPorte Chapter #280 Order of the Eastern Star, active member of the LaPorte Co. Farm Bureau of Noble Twp. in Union Mills, IN., Women of the Moose of Michigan City, LaPorte County Historical Society, and the Michigan City Board of Realtors. On August 22, 1948, in LaPorte, Indiana, she married Wayne Glasgow who preceded her in death on October 9, 1980 On September 6, 1986 in LaPorte, Indiana, she married Arthur E. Phillips, who preceded her in death on June 14, 1992. She is survived by her 3 sons - Hugh (Diana) Glasgow of Union Mills, IN, David W. Glasgow of Carol Co., IN, James (Pamela) Glasgow of Union Mills, IN., and 7 grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband, Wayne Glasgow, 2nd husband, Arthur E Phillips, and one brother, Robert Nelson. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Sunday, January 1, 2012 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm & Monday, January 2, 2012 from 12:30 pm, until time of service. A Life Celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday January 2, 2012 at 1:30 PM with Rev. Dennis Meyer officiating.
