Mrs. Betty Anderson

Mrs. Betty Kay Anderson, 90, of La Porte, Indiana, died Saturday March 24, 2012 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born November 27, 1921 in Unionville, Iowa, the daughter of Clifford Ogden and Clemmie (Carr) Ogden. She has lived most of her life in the La Porte area. Betty worked in the Accounting Department of Allis Chalmers Corp. for 28 years and retired in 1984. She had also worked at Levine's Boston Store and Woolworth Dime Store. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. Betty was very family oriented; she loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a very hard worker and was all always doing things for other people. Betty loved working in her garden and yard. On October 12, 1947, in La Porte, IN, she married John F. Anderson who preceded in death December 6, 1996. She is survived by her son - Jim Brummit of La Porte, IN; daughter - Susan Anderson - Miller of La Porte, IN; 3 grandchildren - Amy Brummit of Bloomington, IN, Chad (Tricia) Miller of Zeeland, MI, April Miller of Michigan City, IN; 3 great grandchildren - Luke Miller, Anna Miller and Jacob Greetham. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Carol Anderson, 1 sister and 3 brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. where the family will receive friends Wednesday, March 28, 2012 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Thursday, March 29, 2012 12:00 pm until time of the service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday March 29, 2012 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Helen Nusbaum officiating.
