Barbara A Emerick January 2, 1934-December 30, 2012 Mrs. Barbara A Emerick , 78, of La Porte, Indiana, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Golden Living Center Fountainview in LaPorte, IN. She was born January 2, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Harold P. Carter and Lillian (Pauline) Carter. Barbara was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Fort Wayne, Indiana and the Merdock Baptist Church in Port Charlotte, Florida. She enjoyed oil painting, reading and loved cats. On January 28, 1954, in Chicago, IL, she married Robert Emerick who preceded her in death August 19, 2000. She is survived by her 2 daughters - Robin (James M.) Garske of La Porte, IN, and Carol; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one sister - Nancy Lentini of Burbank, IL. Barbara was preceded in death by her, husband and one son, Robert T Emerick. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday January 12, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Ronald A. Brauer officiating. Cremation will take place with burial of ashes in the Chapel Hill Cemetery at a later date.
