Mrs. Ada Lee

Ada L. Lee December 26, 1939-February 28, 2012 Mrs. Ada L. Lee , 72, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born December 26, 1939 in Beckley, West Virginia, the daughter of Walter E. Buchanan and Bessie (Johnson) Buchanan. Ada had lived in the La Porte area, most of her life. Ada had worked at Allis Chalmers Corp. and Anco Corp. She was a member of the La Porte Presbyterian Church. Ada enjoyed cross-stitching, ceramics, bowling, dancing and playing bingo. She had been a homemaker and den mother. Ada was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. On February 14, 1961, in La Porte, IN, she married Gene Lee who survives. She is also survived by her six children; Mark A. Coffeen of Santa Fe, NM, Lawrence (Angela) Coffeen of La Porte, IN, Cindy J.(James) McCain of Channahon, IL, Charles E. Lee of La Porte, IN, Jacqueline (Eddie) Burek of La Porte, IN, William R. Lee of La Porte, IN; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother - Hillard Buchanan of Delta, CO; and one sister - Irene Quillan of Crab Orchard, WV. Ada was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Louis Lee, four sisters, Oma Lee Westmoreland, Corrine Bradley, Beatrice Laxton, Helen Keller, five brothers, Walter Buchanan, Douglas Buchanan, Henry Buchanan, Ernest Laxton, Thomas Laxton. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Friday, March 2, 2012 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 10:00 until time of service. A Life Celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday March 3, 2012 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jay Loucks officiating. Interment will follow at the Salem Cemetery, La Porte, Indiana.
