Russell J. Woods September 20, 1933-January 1, 2013 Mr. Russell J. "Woody" Woods , 79, of Kingsford Heights, Indiana, died Tuesday January 1, 2013 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospitalin La Porte, IN. He was born September 20, 1933 in Wolcott, Indiana, the son of James Woods and Ollie (Belle) Woods. Russell worked for Modine Mfg. and was a Veteran of the US Army. He is survived by his 2 daughters - Sheila (James) Horton of AR, Patricia (James) Kimmel of La Porte, IN; 3 grandchildren - Timothy (Kristine) Bell of West Lafayette, IN, Todd (Raquel) Bell of DeRidder, LA, Angel (Caleb) Gurley of Orlando, FL; nine great-grandchildren; James Dayton, Ethan, Alaynea, Hayden, Kanaan, Tyler, Camron, Sarah, Noah, and one step-great grandchild - Jammie Kimmel of Ukon, OK; brother- Larry Woods of Kouts, 3 sisters - Virginia Sherrick of Valparaiso, IN, Gloria Brunicon of Valparaiso, IN, and Beverly Simpson of Valparaiso, IN. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Virgal Woods, Raymond Woods, and one sister, Sally Green. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. There will be no visitation or no services. Cremation will take place.
