Mr. Robert Wisenbaugh

Richard Owen "Red" Wisenbaugh, 75, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Friday May 13, 2011 at his home. He was born July 27, 1935 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Owen Wisenbaugh and Alice (Smeltz) Wisenbaugh. Richard was as farmer and a truck driver for thirty-five years at the Bortz Farm Store. He was a former member of the Scipio Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. On June 10, 1988, in LaPorte, IN, he married Dora F. Watson Wisenbaugh who preceded him in death, September 20, 1995. He is survived by two adopted daughters and caregivers - Brenda Hughes, and Jenice Wurster both of La Porte, IN, adopted daughters, Peggy Elliot of Dinero, TX, Helen Jones of Union Mills, IN, Sally Searfoss of Leesburg, IN; care-giver - Nancy Jacob; twelve adopted grandchildren; ten adopted great grandchildren; aunt, and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Monday, May 16, 2011 from 12:00 pm, until time of services. Service will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday May 16, 2011 at 4:00 pm. Interment will follow at the Door Village Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donor's Choice.
