Robert (Rosey) G. Rosenbaum May 1, 1927 - February 27, 2013 Mr. Robert "Rosey" G. Rosenbaum , 85, of La Porte, Indiana, died Wednesday February 27, 2013 at Brentwood Assisted Living in La Porte, IN. He was born May 1, 1927 in Hanna, Indiana, the son of Otto Rosenbaum and Rilla (Reeves) Rosenbaum. Robert worked 43 years as a construction worker for Larson Danielson. He was a member of Door Village United Methodist Church, and American Legion of Kingsford Heights. Bob enjoyed attending baseball games. He was a big Chicago Cubs and La Porte Slicer baseball fan. Bob enjoyed the great outdoors and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchild. He was a US Navy and Army Veteran during WWII and Korea. On April 16, 1955, in La Porte, IN, he married Mary (Olson) Rosenbaum who preceded him in death August 12, 2007. He is survived by his son - Michael (Christine) Rosenbaum of La Porte, IN; daughter - Patricia (Michael) Ross of La Porte, IN; 3 grandchildren - Nicholas (Lynne) Rosenbaum of La Porte, IN, Sara (Rocky) Rosenbaum-Buchta of Indianapolis, IN, and Jennifer Ross of Noblesville, IN; one great-grandchild - Holland Rosenbaum of La Porte, IN, and one sister - Rilla Emerick of Hanna, IN. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother, Richard Rosenbaum. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, March 1, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 9:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday March 2, 2013 at 10:00 am with Pastor Billy Nickrand officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Mills Cemetery, Union Mills, Indiana. The VFW and American Legion La Porte Honor Guard will conduct a military service at the cemetery. The family would like to say thank-you to the caregivers and staff at Brentwood Assisted Living and also to the Southern Care Hospice. Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW of La Porte 181 W.
