Mr. Richard Weller

Richard "Dick" L. Weller August 31, 1926-December 15, 2011 Richard "Dick" L. Weller , 85, of La Porte, Indiana, died Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. He was born August 31, 1926 in Walkerton, Indiana, the son of Russell Weller and Emma (Bradford) Weller. Dick retired from Allis-Chalmers after forty years of service. He was a Fireman 1st class with the US Navy during WWII. Dick was a member of the American Legion Post #83 and the Moose Lodge of La Porte On August 30, 1946, in Valparaiso, Indiana, he married Mary (Crowe ) Weller who survives. He is also survived by his daughter - Linda Lubs of Westville, IN; 2 Grandchildren - Heather (Dan) Benson of Westville, IN, Tina (Johnny) Albertson of La Porte, IN, and 2 great-grandchildren - Michael & Heath Benson. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. where the family will receive friends, Monday, December 19, 2011 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 10:00 am, until time of service. A Life Celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday December 20, 2011 at 11:00 am with Rev. Curtis Southwood officiating. Interment will follow at the Walkerton Cemetery.
