Richard J. Bach January 23, 1949-December 11, 2011 Richard J. Bach, 62, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, (formerly of LaPorte) died Sunday, December 11, 2011 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR. He was born January 23, 1949 in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of Otto H. Bach, Jr. and Evelyn (Parker) Bach. Richard worked for the US Postal Service as a mail carrier for sixteen years, retiring in 2009. He was a veteran of the US Army during Vietnam. Richard was a member of American Legion Post #83 and VFW Post #1130, and Falcons all of LaPorte. Richard enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing, and being outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his son - Aaron (Ann) Bach of New Lenox, IL; daughter - Jaime (John) Bellace of Collingswood, NJ; five grandchildren - Sophia, Eli, Ava, Aidan Bach, and Olivia Bellace. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Carol J. Bach. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. A Life Celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday December 14, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Pastor JoEllyn Chadwick, officiating. A Military Service will be conducted by the LaPorte Honor Guard. Cremation will take place. Memorial Contribution in lieu of flowers may be made to the: Indiana Veteran's Home, Att'n: Community Service Director, 3851 N. River Rd.. West Lafayette, Indiana 47906.
