Raymond "Red" D. LeRoy November 28, 1918 - November 11, 2011 Mr. Raymond D. "Red" LeRoy, 92, of Crosby, Tennessee, (formerly of Stillwell, IN) died Friday, November 11, 2011 in Newport, TN. He was born November 28, 1918 in Lincoln Twp. (LaPorte Co.), Indiana, the son of Frank LeRoy and Nellie (Tyler) LeRoy. Raymond was a life-time farmer and general contractor in South Bend, New Carlisle and Rolling Prairie. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, a Charter Member of the Pleasant Twp. Fire Dept. for fifty-one years, and a fire chief for one year. He was also a member of the Stillwell Rod and Gun Club. A member of the Kingsbury Masonic Lodge #222, a 33 rd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite in South Bend, IN, and a fifty-four year member of the American Legion Post #400 of Fish Lake, IN. Raymond was a trustee of Pleasant Twp. and ran for County Commissioner. He was a Veteran of the US Navy during WW II. On April 9, 1938, in Kewanna, IN., he married Evangelyn (Hull) LeRoy who preceded him in death May 4, 1994. He is survived by his one daughter - Treva Ann Almassy of Walkerton (Fish Lake), IN;one son - Rodney LeRoy of Crosby, TN; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. There will be no visitation or services.
