Mr. Raymond Fear

Raymond Eugene Fear February 4, 1926-November 29, 2013 Raymond Eugene Fear, 87, of La Porte, Indiana, died Friday November 29, 2013 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. He was born February 4, 1926 in Willow Hill, Illinois, the son of Wilbert Fear and Velva (Miller) Fear. Raymond worked as a tool and die maker for 22 years at Conrad Corporation and retired from Aero-Metals as a mold maker after 13 years in 1990. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Kingsbury. Past member of Duneland Wood Carver Society, and volunteered at Real Services at the Salvation Army. He enjoyed traveling and woodworking. He made birdhouses for the Park Department. Taught Sunday school and was a deacon for many years at the church. Raymond built his own house from the ground up. On November 17, 1945, in Michigan City, IN, he married Alice Fox Fear who preceded in death January 19, 2012. He is survived by his daughter - Peggy (Art) Michaels of La Porte, IN; 2 Sons - James (Sandy) Fear of Burnsville, MN, Daniel (Andrea) Fear of La Porte, IN; Brother - Everett Fear of Terre Haute, IN; Sister - Grace Smith of Vincennes, IN; 5 Grandchildren - Amy Michaels of La Porte, IN, Angela Wisneski of Mishawaka, IN, Shane Reid of La Porte, IN, Matthew Fear of Burnsville, MN, Pamela Fear of Burnsville, MN. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Juanita Spencer. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Monday, December 2, 2013 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. and then Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at First Baptist Church of Kingsbury. A life celebration will be held at First Baptist Church of Kingsbury, Tuesday December 3, 2013 at 10:00 am with Rev. Tim Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Kingsbury Cemetery.
