Mr. Paul Weaver

Paul F. Weaver June 29, 1939-May 8, 2012 Mr. Paul F. Weaver, 72, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday May 8, 2012 at his home. He was born June 29, 1939 in Lafayette, Indiana, the son of James A. Weaver and Ruth E. Weaver. Paul was a member of Agape Christian Church. He was a Ball State University graduate, with a master's in education. Paul was a history teacher for the New Prairie United School Corp. from 1967 to 1973. He was on the board for the LaPorte High School Building Trades Program. In 1973 Paul and his wife Patricia opened Weaver Realty in New Carlisle, Indiana. He currently was working at Exit 1 Realty. Paul was a former Jaycee member and had played Santa Claus for the Jaycee Christmas Children's Programs. He also played Santa Claus for 31 years for the neighborhood children and his grandchildren. On September 14, 1968, he married Patricia (Reed) Weaver who preceded him in death on November 28, 2009. He is survived by his step-son - Reed (Laura) McDonald of La Porte, IN; 2 daughters-in-law - Suzanne McDonald of La Porte, IN, Lesa McDonald of New Carlisle, IN; ten grandchildren, Trevor, Amanda, Christina McDonald, Tom, Tim and Ben McDonald; Michael (Deedee) McDonald, Kelly (Shaun) Easton, Mark (Casey) McDonald, Kate (Andrew) Francis; nine great grandchildren; 2 sisters - Jean Ann (Gene) Hawkins, Eleanor Jo (John W.) Peters, and one brother - David (Comanche) Weaver. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 2 step-sons, Mitchell G. McDonald, Craig A. McDonald. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A celebration of life will be held at Agape Christian Church, Sunday May 13, 2012 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Rodney Nielsen officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
