Mr. Paul Hill

Paul H. Hill October 19, 1934 - December 22, 2012 Paul H. Hill, 78, of La Porte, Indiana, died Saturday December 22, 2012 at the Settlers House in La Porte. He was born October 19, 1934 in La Follette, Tennessee, the son of Nathan Hill and Maggie (Acuff) Hill. Paul retired from Howmet. He was a member of VFW of La Porte, IN, and various bowling associations. Paul is a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed woodworking, and was a huge Cubs fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. On October 2, 1956, in La Porte, he married Laura Baker Hill who preceded him in death on December 22, 2006. He is survived by his 2 sons - Chris (Linda) Hill of La Porte, IN, Dennis Hill of La Porte, IN; 2 daughters - Terry (Kevin) O'Conner of Valparaiso, IN, Laurie (John) Myers of Hudson Lake, IN; 5 brothers - Jim (Peggy) Hill of La Porte, IN, Tim Hill of Addison, MI, Joe (Carolyn) Hill of Knox, IN, Jerry Hill of La Porte, IN, Aaron Hill of La Porte, IN; 3 sisters - Pauline (Baily) Standefer of Clarkride, AR, Hazel (Hank) Ivey of Clarkride, AR, Linda (Larry) Parker of PA; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Paul Hill Jr., and brother, Nathan Hill. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, December 28, 2012 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday December 29, 2012 at 1:00 pm with Dr. PhilipWillingham officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana where the VFW Honor Guard will conduct a military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Hospice, 5838 W.
