Mr. Paul Diesslin

Mr. Paul W. Diesslin, 87, of Crawfordsville, Indiana, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Williamsburg Health Care in Crawfordsville, IN. He was born March 6, 1925 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Gust Diesslin and Clara (Hummel) Diesslin. Living 16 years in Crawfordsville, Indiana, coming from LaPorte, Indiana Paul had enjoyed being a dairy farmer for 60 years; he won the outstanding young farmer of the year award. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of LaPorte. Paul was a Past Chairman of the LaPorte Pine Lake Cemetery Board. Paul graduated from LaPorte High School in 1943. He was active in 4-H and LaPorte Co. Fair. He enjoyed hunting, and sailing on his sailboat and loved to play golf with his friends. On October 24, 1948, in LaPorte, IN, he married Joyce (Burchby) Diesslin who survives. He is also survived by his son - William; 2 daughters - Laura (Bruce), Paula (Michael); 4 grandchildren - Brent (Hannah), Greg, Drew, and Dustin; 2 great-grandchildren - Leeland and Miles; 2 sisters - Louis and Mary Ann. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Pamela, brother, Howard, sister, Helen. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm & Monday, October 8, 2012 from 10:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday October 8, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Evan Lash officiating.
