Larry "Whisper" Reese April 7, 1947 - December 17, 2012 Mr. Larry D. Reese, 65, of La Porte, Indiana, died Monday December 17, 2012 at his home. He was born April 7, 1947 in Logansport, Indiana, the son of Lyman William Reese and Betty Jane (Schultz) Reese. He spent most of his life in the La Porte area. Larry worked as a mechanic for LaPorte County Highway Department. He loved his job as a mechanic and helping people. Larry was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam and Korean conflict. He enjoyed fishing and especially loved his grandchildren. On March 26, 1970, in La Porte, IN, he married Deborah McAlister Reese who survives. He is also survived by his 3 daughters - Dora Reese, Deanna Reese, and Darla Reese all of La Porte, IN; 5 grandchildren - William Sekula, Olivia Powell, Rhegan Roseman, Preston Reed, Makenzie Logmann; 4 brothers - William Reese of CO, Roger Reese of Kingsford Heights, IN, Richard Reese of TX, James Reese of La Porte, IN; 2 sisters - Cheri of Walkerton, IN, Mary Kay Reese of La Porte, IN. Larry was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm & Friday, December 21, 2012 from 10:00 am until the time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday December 21, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Leonard Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the Kingsbury Cemetery, Kingsbury, Indiana. The VFW - American Legion Honor Guard will conduct a military service.
