Mr. Herbert Zellers

Herbert W. Zellers, 62, of Westville, Indiana, died Wednesday March 28, 2012 at Jesse Brown Veteran Hospital in Chicago, IL. He was born February 25, 1950 in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of Herbert Zellers and Arlene (Harpner) Zellers. Herbert worked as a bartender for Outback Pub for four years, he had also worked at the Moose Lodge, Suro's, and PRCU. He was a member of P.R.C.U., Moose Lodge, American Legion Post #83, and V.F.W. Post #1130. Herbert was a veteran of the US Army during Vietnam, and the 113th Engrs of LaPorte. Herbert enjoyed fishing, boating, playing with older cars and was a NASCAR fan. He is survived by his niece - Dawn Jarrett; nephew, Deen Jarrett both of LaPorte, IN.; great niece, Tonya Jarrett and one great great niece, Madison Woolum both of Michigan City, IN. Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Pam Johnson, and one niece Sheila Jarrett. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. Cremation will take place. There will be no visitation and no services. A Memorial Dinner will be held at the VFW Post #1130 in LaPorte on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
