Harry "Bud" Lee Perkins January 2, 1928-December 18, 2013 Harry (Bud) Lee Perkins, 85 of Hamlet, Indiana, passed away on December 18, 2013 with his family at bedside. Harry was born in La Porte, Indiana on January 2, 1928 to Harry and Ethel Perkins. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday December 23, 2013 at Haverstock Funeral Home. Pastor Ann Kathryn Dill of Tracy United Methodist Church will be officiating along with Pastor Dorthy Jones. Visitation will be held at 2:00 - 5:00 pm on Sunday December 22, 2013 at Haverstock Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at Kingsbury Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home. Harry was married to Iris Dean Perkins (Hall) on July 21, 1945 at Tracy United Methodist Church. They had two wonderful sons, John Lee Perkins (deceased) and Randall Gene Perkins (deceased). Bud and Dean were married for 68 blessed years. Harry was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed everything his land had to offer. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, fishing and riding all over his farm on his gator. Harry was a lifetime member of Tracy United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Free Masons. He was a 4-H leader for several years and served on the La Porte Extension council. He served as a supervisor for Soil and Water. He also served on the Merit Board for La Porte County Sheriff's Department for several years. Harry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He is survived by two grandchildren, Misty Page Strebe and her husband Robert; Rob J. Perkins and his wife Wendy; five great-grandchildren, Gavin Tyler Troche, Kennedy Kai Troche, Zach Barger, Kali Oriana Perkins, and Lillian Marie Perkins; two daughter-in-laws, Debra K. Perkins and Jeanne Perkins. Harry is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ethel Perkins; two sons, John Lee Perkins, Randall Gene Perkins; as well as four sisters Ruth Hayter, Nelda Goens, Doris Robinson, and Helen Cole.
