Mr. George Maynard

Mr. George W. Maynard, 76, of LaPorte, Indiana, died Thursday October 18, 2012 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. He was born February 22, 1936 in Athens, Alabama, the son of Willie Maynard and Hazel (McDole) Maynard. George was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of American Legion Post #83, and V.F.W. Post #1130 both of LaPorte. He is survived by his 3 daughters - Deborah (John) Beebe of La Porte, IN, Pamela Swedenberg-Hoen of Trail Creek, IN, Sharon (John) Dee of San Jose, CA; son - Kenneth (Brit) Maynard of Wahiawa, HI; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; 4 sisters - Rachel Arndt of Franklin, NC, Wanda Maynard of Sanford, FL, Judy Passafume of Franklin, NC, and Pat Elliott of KY. George was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mildred Black. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at Tracy Cemetery, Hamlet, IN, Thursday October 25, 2012 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jo Ellyn Chadwick officiating.
