Mr. Floyd Butler

Floyd Dewaine Butler June 21, 1937 - December 11, 2012 Mr. Floyd Dewaine Butler, 75, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. He was born June 21, 1937 in Rolling Prairie, Indiana, the son of Glenn Butler and Vera (Stoner) Butler. Floyd was a signalman for Conrail Railroad, retiring in 1997. He was a veteran of the US Army. Floyd was a member of I.B.E.W. #531 of LaPorte, Brotherhood of Railroad Signalman and the Conservation Club in Rolling Prairie. He was active in beekeeping and working with the Boy Scouts. On June 28, 1974, in Rolling Prairie, IN, he married Sharon (Galbreath) Butler who survives. He is also survived by his 4 children - Gina (Charles) Rice of Wilmette, IL, Nick Butler of Indianapolis, IN, Annette (Jack) Williams of La Porte, IN, Robert Bradburn of La Porte, IN; 13 grandchildren, Emily, Max, Alex & Andrew Rice,Tod Lowery, Ben, Samantha, Jacob, Charles, and Jonathon Williams, Shannon and Jason Bradburn, Jessica Butler, and ; brother-in-law - Warren Harris; sister-in-law - Nancy Butler, and several nieces and nephews. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Walter, Albert, and Raymond Butler, and 4 sisters, Delores Ward, Hope Harris, Lillie Good, Helen Pease. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends, Sunday, December 16, 2012 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm, and Monday, December 17, 2012 from 10:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday December 17, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ronald A. Brauer officiating. Interment will follow at the Rolling Prairie Cemetery, Rolling Prairie, Indiana, where a Military Service will be conducted by the Rolling Prairie V.F.W. Post #9423.
