Mr. Eugene Lemons

Eugene R. Lemons, 71, of La Porte, IN, died Saturday July 23, 2011 at his home. He was born June 18, 1940 in Michigan City, Indiana, the son of Clifford F. Lemons and Eleanor (Novak) Lemons. Eugene had worked for Local 395 Hammond. He was a member of Iron Workers #395 Hammond, Indiana, Moose Lodge, Falcon's, PRCU and the Eagles. Eugene enjoyed traveling. On September 11, 1957, in Michigan City, IN, he married Ethelyn "Red" (Perry) Lemons who preceded him in death on January 24, 1998. He is survived by his three sons - Gary Lemons of Mc Henry, IL, Cary Lemons of Grand Junction, CO, and Jeff Lemons of Mc Minnville, TN; one brother - Daniel (Wilma) Lemons of Michigan City, IN, one half-brother, Steven Lemons of Michigan City, IN; five grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Mark Lemons, half-sister, Joyce Shapanski, and one daughter-in-law, Barbara Lemons. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. There will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donor's Choice.
