E. Keith Summerville August 15, 1929-March 31, 2012 Mr. E. Keith Summerville, 82, of Mayfield, Kentucky, died Saturday March 31, 2012 at his home. Elvin has lived in Kentucky, since 1999, coming from La Porte. He was born August 15, 1929 in Mayfield, Kentucky, the son of Jeff Summerville and Captola (Bandy) Summerville. Elvin had worked twenty-four years for the City of La Porte at the water treatment plant, retiring in 1992. He was a veteran of the US Army during WW II. In Las Vegas, NV, he married Olive L. Ginther, who preceded him in death on August 18, 1993. On August 15, 1998, in Mill Creek, IN, he married Shirley (Vardaman) Summerville who preceded him in death February 27, 2012. He is survived by his grandaughter - Jessica; two great grandchildren - Kennedy O'Neil, and Elizabeth O'Neil; seven sisters-in-law - Ann Ginther of La Porte, IN, Saundra Bertolan of Avon Park, FL, Carol Moyer of Elkhart, IN, Muriel Berryman of La Porte, IN, Barb Solmos of Breman, IN, Anna Dalton of La Porte, IN, Cindy Moyer of La Porte, IN; several nieces and nephews, and several cousins. Elvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Olive L. Summerville; wife, Shirley Summerville; son Gary Keith Summerville; and daughter, Sheila Kay Summerville. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A Life Celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday April 4, 2012 at 7:00 pm with Rev. Ronald Devenport officiating. Burial of Ashes will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donor's Choice.
