Mr. David Reese

David Reese, 65, of La Porte, Indiana, died Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital, He was born March 2, 1947 in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of Joseph D. Reese and Grace M. (Surns) Reese. David was a 1965 Rolling Prairie High School graduate. He worked as an auto mechanic for Michiana Motors, retiring in 2009. He was a member of United Methodist of Rolling Prairie. He enjoyed Slicers baseball, and basketball, also enjoyed woodworking, working on cars and tractors and gardening. David was a veteran of the US Army during Vietnam. On December 1, 1990, in Rolling Prairie, IN, he married Cathy (Strakowski) Reese who survives. He is also survived by his mother-in-law - Doris Strakowski of La Porte, IN; 2 brothers - Joseph (Sharon) Reese of La Porte, IN, Paul Reese of FL; 2 sisters - Danette Clayton of La Porte, IN, Veronica Karen Steele of La Porte, IN; several aunts and uncles, and several nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Walter Strakowski, and brother-in-law, Kenny Clayton. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. There will be no services. Cremation will take place.
