Mr. Daniel Miller

Mr. Daniel J. Miller, 51, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012, as a result of an accident. He was born November 2, 1960 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Marion Miller and Kensey (Fox) Spriggs Miller. Daniel worked in maintenance for the Indiana Toll Road. He loved his Saint Bernard dog "Buca" and enjoyed fishing, and hunting. Daniel especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and family, he was very dedicated to his family. On November 27, 1980, in LaPorte, IN, he married Lori (Lewis) Miller who survives. He is also survived by his 2 daughters - Tabitha (Josh) Hughes of Rolling Prairie, IN, Kristina (Allen) Dobkins of La Porte, IN; 2 grandchildren - Kylee Hughes and Ethan Hughes both of Rolling Prairie, IN; 4 brothers - Tom Spriggs of KY, Ron Spriggs of New Carlisle, IN, Lynn Spriggs of New Carlisle, IN, and Jess Miller of La Porte, IN; 2 sisters - Ellen Spriggs of New Carlisle, IN, and Joyce Lowery of Kingsford Heights, IN. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jim Spriggs, and Mike Miller. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where there will be a gathering of friends and family on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
