Mr. Christopher Blake

Christopher A. Blake, 29, of La Porte, Indiana, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in Michigan City, IN. He was born November 25, 1982 in Murray, Kentucky, the son of Jimmy Blake of Mayfield, Kentucky and Melody Mading of LaPorte, Indiana Christopher was the Chairman of the Board and past president of the LaPorte Jaycees. He graduated from PNC as an honor student, member of the Sigma Beta Delta Society and served in the US Air Force. Christopher played and coached softball. He was the owner and operator of Shaky Shuttle of LaPorte. He is survived by his daughter - Bailey Marie Blake of Shreveport, LA; sister - Natalie Govert of La Porte, IN; 3 brothers - Joe Blake of La Porte, IN, Todd Blake of AR, and Timothy Blake of Murray, KY; grandmother - Joanna Mading of Deland, FL; one niece - Alyssa Govert; one nephew - Benjamin Govert; and his cat - Bulli. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Juanita and Wilbur Blake and grandfather, Gene "Da" Mading. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Monday, January 30, 2012 from 2:00 pm, until time of service. Cremation will take place with a Life Celebration held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday January 30, 2012 at 5:00 PM with Pastor Mike Johnson officiating.
