Charles L Simpson July 14, 1927 - April 12, 2012 Mr. Charles L. Simpson, 84, of New Carlisle, Indiana, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Millers Merry Manor, New Carlisle. He was born July 14, 1927 in Greensburg, Kentucky, the son of Charles E. Simpson and Nettie May (Keen) Simpson. Charles was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He worked 20 years as a millwright at US Steel in Gary and retired from National Can after 20 years. He enjoyed gardening, camping, vacationing, and RV transporting. He also loved his dog Shebia and loved eating ice cream. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Charles will be greatly missed. On November 10, 1952, in Jeffersonville, IN, he married Elsie (White) Simpson who survives. He is also survived by his 2 daughters - Carolyn (Ray) Kissinger of Mill Creek IN, Debra (Brian) Galvas of La Porte, IN; 3 sons - Richard (Sandy) Simpson, Danny (Norma) Simpson both of Campbellsville, KY, Dennis Simpson of New Carlisle, IN; nine grandchildren, and several great grandchildren; 2 sisters - Lorema Vice of Indianapolis, IN, Faye Wray of Campbellsville, KY, and one brother - L.C. (Patsy) Simpson of Campbellsville, KY. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and five brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & Monday, April 16, 2012 from 9:30 am, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday April 16, 2012 at 10:30 am with Rev. Curtis Southwood officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
